IG Wealth Management's "Taxes for Good" Initiative Raises $8,660 for Back the Build

PICTON, September 10, 2026–Scott Lavender and Barbara Shuster of IG Wealth Management are proving that tax season can be a force for good.

Through their annual "Taxes for Good" initiative, Lavender and Shuster prepare income tax returns for residents of Wellington on the Lake in exchange for a donation to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation's Back the Build Campaign.

This year's initiative raised an outstanding $8,660, with Scott and Barbara matching the generosity of their clients through IG Wealth Management.

Since launching the initiative in 2021, the annual fundraiser has now contributed more than $19,500 to support the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, demonstrating the power of community partnerships and creative philanthropy.

"We're grateful for the generosity of our clients and the Wellington on the Lake community," said Scott Lavender and Barbara Shuster, Certified Financial Planners with IG Wealth Management. "Preparing tax returns is one way we can use our professional expertise to give back, and we're proud that this initiative continues to grow while helping build a new hospital that will benefit our families, friends, neighbours, and future generations."

Shannon Coull, executive director of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, said the continued partnership with IG Wealth Management is making a lasting impact.

"Scott and Barbara have found a meaningful way to combine their professional skills with philanthropy. Their annual 'Taxes for Good' initiative not only raises significant funds for the Back the Build Campaign but also inspires others to think creatively about how they can make a difference. We are incredibly grateful for their ongoing leadership, generosity, and commitment to exceptional health care close to home."

PECMH Foundation’s Back the Build Campaign is raising $30M to build the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and equip it with the specialized medical equipment, furnishings, and technology that will support exceptional patient care for generations to come.
