Mark your calendar – Wednesday, August 16 is Hospital Day at McDonald’s

PICTON, August 1, 2023 – On Wednesday, August 16, customers visiting McDonald’s Restaurants across the region can support patient care at their hospitals.

McDonald’s Restaurants in Kingston, Gananoque, Napanee, Belleville, Trenton, Madoc, Picton, Campbellford, and Brighton are teaming up with their local hospital foundations to raise funds for their respective hospitals.

McDonald’s in Picton will be donating $1.00 from every Big Mac and McChicken and $0.50 from every brewed coffee sold on that day, to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF).

Funds raised in Picton will Back the Build to help with building the new hospital in Prince Edward County.

“The support from McDonald’s and its guests on Hospital Day will make a significant impact on our new hospital, and the patients who visit PECMH,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “It is truly an honour to partner with McDonald’s. This event makes investing in our new hospital easy and accessible, which is a passion we share with McDonald’s. Thank you to owner Todd Shea and all the wonderful staff and customers who visit McDonald’s. We depend on the commitment and dedication of people like Todd and his team to help our help us realize our dream of building a new hospital in Prince Edward County. We hope to see you all on August 16.”

In addition to raising funds, community volunteers will be present at all participating restaurants to have a little fun and collect any donations guests may wish to make. All money raised at each restaurant will be donated directly to that restaurant’s local hospital foundation.

“Your support on August 16 will have an incredible impact on the care we are able to provide inside the new PECMH. Donors fund every piece of medical equipment we will be purchasing for the new hospital. These are the tools our Care Champions will need to provide comfort and care for the hospital’s patients. Funds raised on Hospital Day will really make a difference to the future of health care delivery in The County,” said Coull.

Hospital Day is just one of the ways McDonald’s Canada gives back to the communities it serves. To learn more about the company’s commitment to fostering communities, visit www.mcdonald’s.ca.
