MLP Residence Donates $5,000 to PECMH Foundation's Back the Build Campaign
Gift includes tribute in memory of Tracy Nieman
Prince Edward County, ON – August 20, 2025—MLP Residence (Manor on Loyalist Parkway) is proud to announce a $5,000 donation to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) Foundation’s Back the Build campaign, demonstrating their commitment to keeping care close to home for both their residents and the broader community of Prince Edward County.
As part of the contribution, $2,000 is donated in memory of Tracy Nieman, the former general manager and staff member at MLP Residence, who left a lasting impact on colleagues and residents alike. Tracy’s spouse, Brad, and daughter, Brittany, who works at MLP as their Marketing Ambassador were present for the announcement.
“This gift is our way of giving back to a community that gives so much to us,” said Anik Jivanjee, CEO of MLP Residence. “Supporting the future of health care delivery in Prince Edward County is a priority for us — and we’re especially proud to honour Tracy’s memory through this contribution, whose caring nature touched us all.”
“Our family is deeply touched by this incredibly generous donation made in memory of Tracy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Anik and the entire MLP Residence team for this meaningful tribute," said the Nieman family. "MLP was more than just a workplace for Tracy — it was a community that inspired her, supported her, and allowed her to give so much of herself to others. This gesture is a reflection of that shared connection, and we are truly grateful.”
In May 2025, residents and staff at MLP Residence had the opportunity to attend a presentation co-hosted by resident and Back the Build Campaign Cabinet member, Leo Finnegan and PECMH Foundation representatives to learn about the new hospital. From private rooms with individual bathrooms that enhance infection control and privacy to thoughtfully designed healing spaces filled with natural light, the new County hospital will provide a space that truly supports comfort, dignity, and recovery.
“We are deeply thankful to Anik and the MLP Residence for their generosity and partnership,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “We are especially touched by the tribute to Tracy Nieman, whose impact on residents and staff lives on. Gestures like this remind us that health care is not just about buildings — it’s about people caring for people.”
This thoughtful gift is a heartfelt expression of collective compassion and community,” said Nancy Parks, chairperson of the Back the Build Campaign Cabinet. “Every dollar moves us one step closer to a hospital that will provide exceptional care for generations to come.”
The PECMH Foundation is raising $30M to help build a new hospital in Prince Edward County. The new 96k square foot leading-edge hospital is scheduled to open in 2027. The support from MLP Residence reflects a shared commitment to the health and well-being of everyone who calls Prince Edward County home.
