IG Wealth Management Backs the Build

PICTON, December 9, 2022 –The team at IG Wealth Management continue to give back to the communities they work and live in.

On behalf of IG Wealth Management, Barbara Shuster and Scott Lavender are again Backing the Build for a new hospital in Prince Edward County. The team of financial planners were pleased to donate $4,500 to the new hospital campaign.

As a caring community partner, IG Wealth Management’s goals include providing financial support to communities where its people live and work, and encourage and support its people in giving back to those communities.

Lavender and Shuster, who both reside in Prince Edward County, are Certified Financial Planners (CFP) with IG Wealth Management. This past spring, for the second consecutive year, they completed income tax returns for the residents of Wellington on the Lake in exchange for a donation to be directed towards the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s (PECMHF) Back the Build campaign.

Over a dozen residents from the Wellington on the Lake community took part. IG Wealth Management also supported this fundraiser through a matching gift incentive with their head office based out of Winnipeg.

“This initiative from IG Wealth Management encouraged meaningful community involvement for the residents of Wellington on the Lake through Barbara and Scott’s efforts,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “Financial advisors can play a significant role for their clients as their expertise can help donors to direct their donations to fit their personal circumstances and maximize any tax advantages. The way Scott and Barb are choosing to support our campaign through this income tax fundraiser is one that will help shape how health care will be delivered in our community for years to come. We are extremely grateful and are excited about the partnership we are forging with IG Wealth Management.”

IG Wealth Management prides itself on providing reliable and dedicated service to their clients so the decision to Back the Build again this year was easy. Many of their staff and clients enjoy living in or spending time in Prince Edward County and many have had occasion to have to use the County hospital.

“Ensuring we have the best care for the members of our community and region on a 24/7 basis is important to IG Wealth Management,” said Scott Lavender, CFP with IG Wealth Management. “This is why we have made this gift towards the building of a new home for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.”

“We felt this was an amazing turnout from the residents of Wellington on the Lake, who are excited to see a new hospital built in The County,” said Barbara Shuster, CFP with IG Wealth Management. “It is inspiring to see the many ways that community supports the new hospital.”

“We are excited to celebrate this gift in support of the Back the Build campaign. The support from IG Wealth Management will help ensure our new hospital will be equipped with major medical equipment devices like a Computerized Tomography (CT) Scanner, Digital Mammography Equipment, and a new Digital Radiography Machine. IG Wealth are also helping the environment by enabling us to explore sustainability, like solar energy and smart technology. Our new hospital will be built so those needing medical attention in our community will continue to receive the best care possible in a leading edge facility,” said Nancy Parks, Back the Build campaign chairperson.

Founded in 1926, IG Wealth Management is a national leader in delivering personalized financial solutions to Canadians through a network of Consultants located across Canada. “Last year (2023), we had the best crop yields since moving to The County in 2004. Barbara and I wanted to share our gratitude over such a great harvest and couldn’t think of a better way to do so than to donate to a cause benefitting all…building a new hospital,” said Hunter.
