Second Annual Tournament Celebrates Community and Women's Health

WELLINGTON, ON – October 28, 2026 — Wellington was awash in pink on October 1 as 76 golfers came together for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) Foundation’s sold-out second annual Partners in Pink Golf Tournament, raising $65,900* in revenue in support of women's health at PECMH.

Hosted at Wellington Golf Club, the tournament brought together 19 teams for an afternoon of golf, friendly competition and plenty of pink, followed by dinner and spirited live and silent auctions at the Wellington Legion. From the course to the clubhouse and into the evening, the celebration reflected the generosity and community spirit that make Prince Edward County so special.

This year's tournament set out to raise funds to help outfit two important women's health spaces in the new hospital: the Gynecology Examination Room in the Emergency Department and the Mammography Room. Funds raised will help purchase specialized furnishings and equipment designed to support comfort, privacy and compassionate care for patients close to home.

“There was such a joyful energy in Wellington, but underneath all the fun was an incredible sense of purpose,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Our golfers, sponsors, auction donors, volunteers and community partners came together because they believe women in Prince Edward County deserve exceptional care close to home. We are tremendously grateful to every person who helped make this day possible.”

The Foundation extends special thanks to Lead Sponsor CIBC and Pink Ribbon Champions BSR REIT and the Oberste family, Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Co. and Scotiabank, along with the many businesses and individuals who supported the tournament through sponsorships, auction items, prizes, swag, wine and other gifts-in-kind.

“What made the day so special was seeing everyone embrace it,” said Kelley Derrett, Partners in Pink Golf Committee co-chair. “People showed up ready to golf, have fun and give generously. From our sponsors and donors to the golfers and volunteers, everyone played a part, and that spirit of community is exactly what Partners in Pink is all about.”

“Wellington Golf Club is such a wonderful home for this tournament, and it was amazing to see the course filled with pink and so many people pulling together for our hospital,” added Lisa Lindsay, Partners in Pink Golf Committee co-chair. “We are incredibly thankful to the golfers, businesses, volunteers and friends who said yes when we asked for their support. Their generosity made the whole day feel like a celebration.”

The celebration continued at the Wellington Legion, where guests heard from Dr. Anne Nancekievill about a century of progress in women's health before opening their hearts, and their wallets, in support of the new hospital.

PECMH Foundation also extends heartfelt thanks to Wellington Golf Club for its hospitality and partnership, the Partners in Pink Golf Committee for its leadership, and the many volunteers who rolled up their sleeves throughout the day. Together with the golfers, sponsors and auction donors, their generosity turned a golf tournament into a true community celebration in support of local health care.

PECMH Foundation’s Back the Build Campaign is raising $30M to build the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and equip it with the specialized medical equipment, furnishings, and technology that will support exceptional patient care for generations to come.
