PICTON, February 24, 2021

Even though fences are the theme of the Picton Rotary 2021 cash calendar, the decision to support the new hospital campaign wasn’t something a local business owner needed to sit on the fence about.

Heather VanVlack, owner of Printcraft in Picton, was quick to end 2020 on a positive note by helping the Rotary Club of Picton and the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation Back the Build for a new hospital by matching all cash calendar sales at the store.

In an effort to help raise funds for the new hospital, the Rotary Club of Picton designated 100 per cent of the proceeds from their 2021 cash calendar sales to PECMHF.

Printcraft sold 63 calendars, which are sold for $20.00 each. With Printcraft’s matched gift, $2,460 was raised through calendar sales for the new hospital campaign.

“I am County born and raised. My husband and I have raised our children here and we believe the new build will be great to have to sustain our growing community,” said VanVlack. “Rotary has always been a supporter of Printcraft, and so has the hospital foundation. We just wanted to try and give a little boost to help both Rotary and PECMHF Back the Build,” said VanVlack.

Printcraft has been printing and selling Picton Rotary cash calendars since they were first produced in 2008.

“Printcraft has been a terrific partner for years in helping us produce the Rotary Cash Calendar and the sale of calendars from their retail desk. This year, Heather and her staff really stepped up to the plate with their matching offer,” said Grant Reynolds, chairperson of the Picton Rotary cash calendar committee.

“We all know the saying “time flies”, but this year, turning the page on the calendar each month never felt so good,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “We are proud to partner with Picton Rotary and Printcraft on this wonderful initiative that helps to ensure the future of health care delivery in the County remains vibrant and strong. The funds will help the foundation get one step closer to building a new hospital in Prince Edward County.”

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization whose mission is to raise money to advance health care for the patients of the hospital and the people of Prince Edward County.
