PE Ag Society Backs the Build

PICTON, October 5, 2021

For 13 years, the Prince Edward Agricultural Society have been advocating for our County hospital by putting their baking skills, and now their drive thru skills, to the test.

With the COVID-19 pandemic and the Picton Fair being postponed for a second year, the Prince Edward Agricultural Society hosted their second annual drive thru event at the Picton Fairgrounds on September 11.

Over 1,500 people cruised through the fairgrounds to take in the agricultural-themed displays and enjoy their favourite fair food.

Admission was free but donations to the
Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Picton United Church Food Bank and the Storehouse Food Bank were encouraged.

The donations raised $5,000 and saw $2,000 donated to the PECMHF’s Back the Build Campaign for a new hospital in Prince Edward County. Each food bank received $1,500.

The Agricultural Society, and the three local charities, thank all of the generous people who visited the Drive Thru event and made a donation.

Today’s donation brings the Ag Society’s cumulative giving total to PECMHF to $14,705.

The Foundation is proud of their 13-year partnership with the Agricultural Society and hopes to see you all at next year’s Picton Fair!

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to raising funds to advance health care for the patients of the hospital and the people of Prince Edward County.
