'Crazy Covid World' Raises $2,137.46

PICTON, September 23, 2020

Over the past 35 years, donors have helped the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation advance health care for the patients of the hospital and people of Prince Edward County. This is a tremendous accomplishment and one that we can be proud of together.

And while 2020 has been a challenging year, our donors and community at large continue to step up in heartwarming ways to support our hospital as we all contend with COVID-19.

The generosity our Foundation has seen during the pandemic has been awe-inspiring. Today, the PECMH Foundation would like to extend sincere gratitude to Fraser and Robyn Hardman for helping to raise the morale of our community through the song they co-wrote called Crazy Covid World.

Crazy Covid World is a song Hardman then produced with the help of his fellow musicians in Seventh Town. The song aired on 99.3 County FM and people who wanted a digital copy of the song were encouraged to make a gift to the PECMH Foundation.

The Foundation is proud to announce that $2,137.46 was raised through the song.

“Robyn and I want to say thank you to all the health care workers putting yourselves out there, on the line, for all of us. We also wish to thank the donors who supported the hospital through purchasing an electronic copy of Crazy Covid World,” said Fraser Hardman.

“The world is dealing with a coronavirus pandemic, but difficult times often bring out the best in many people. Neighbours help neighbours. Strangers help strangers. We want to thank Fraser and Robyn for being part of our donor family. Your passion for music has benefited our County hospital and we are so grateful for your ongoing support,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.

Listeners who would still like to own a copy of the song are encouraged to reach out to the PECMH Foundation to make a donation of any size which will support the PECMHF’s area of greatest need and in return, a digital copy of the song will be e-mailed to them. The listener will receive a tax receipt for their donation, minus $1.00, as that is the fair market value of the song. One hundred percent of your gift will benefit PECMHF.

To make a gift and obtain a copy of Crazy Covid World, please call the PECMH Foundation office at 613-476-1008 ext. 4502. Donations may also be mailed to the PECMH Foundation at 403 Main St, Picton, ON K0K 2T0. Please cite Crazy Covid World in the memo line and include your e-mail address. You may also visit the PECMHF website at www.pecmhf.ca. When making a gift online, please make the gift in honour of Crazy Covid World.

“Last year (2023), we had the best crop yields since moving to The County in 2004. Barbara and I wanted to share our gratitude over such a great harvest and couldn’t think of a better way to do so than to donate to a cause benefitting all…building a new hospital,” said Hunter.
